Our Services
Well Child Care
Regular well-child visits or “check-ups” are strongly recommended to monitor your child’s health and development. These visits provide us an opportunity to observe your child’s progress, to screen for potential problems, to provide immunizations, and to offer advice and counsel. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends well visits at the following ages: 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, 3 years, 4 years, and then annually
Immunizations
Immunizations are an important way to protect your child from specific diseases, particularly in their early years. The providers at Valley Oak Pediatrics fully endorse the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
New Born Care
We recommend that your newborn baby be seen in our office at 3-5 days of life to ensure a healthy transition from the womb to the world. For those parents who request it, we offer circumcision for newborn boys in the first 2 weeks of life. We also offer prenatal visits as a “meet and greet” opportunity for expectant families.
School & Sports Physicals
This is typically performed at the same time as the annual physical, though your school/sport may require a separate visit. The sports exam sometimes includes a slightly different focus. We can provide a generic form for sports clearance, but some schools require their own form (please bring with you to the visit).
Sick Child Diagnosis & Treatment
Sometimes your child just isn’t feeling well. We often have same-day appointments to get your ill child in quickly to be checked for a variety of illnesses including ear infections, strep throat, upper respiratory infections (“colds”), urinary tract infection, rashes, and many more.
ADHD Evaluation & Treatment
Our providers offer appointments for the evaluation of ADHD. Please call our office to schedule appointment. We request that Vanderbilt questionnaires (see forms) be completed by parent(s) and teacher(s) prior to appointment. Patients with ADHD are followed regularly to ensure that treatment choices are successful.
